Question by khd_dcm: How do I identify which Java version is installed on my Windows XP?
Hi, I’m running a software that requires Java v. 1.6 update 7. It seems like my XP came with a different version of Java. How do I know which version of Java is installed on my XP ?
Thanks a bunch!

Go to the Control Panel, then to Add/Remove programs. The programs should be listed in alphabetical order, look for Java. You might see multiple versions, the most recent version is the one you are using.
You can also try going to Start, Run, type in “cmd” without the quotes, and press “OK”. Then type “java -version” without the quotes and press enter. This will tell you what version you are using. Type “exit” and press enter to exit the box.
